Terms of Service

Version 1.4. Effective August 25, 2026.

1. Who we are

Cozy Butter is the website at cozybutter.com, the free tools we publish for it, and the community at community.cozybutter.com. All of it is operated by Cozy Butter LLC ("Cozy Butter," "we," "us," or "our"), an independent company co-founded by Kim Carlos of The Plus SideZ Podcast and Amanda Bonello of the GLP-1 Studio. We call all of it the "Service" in these Terms.

The community is public. Anyone on the internet can read its open spaces without an account, and search engines may index what is posted there. A free account is required to post, comment, message, or attend events, and some spaces, including our resource library, are open to members only. Section 5 and our Privacy Policy explain what this means for what you share.

You can reach us at [email protected], or by mail at Cozy Butter LLC, 3800 Business Highway 151, #113, Marion, IA 52302.

2. What Cozy Butter is, and what it is not

Cozy Butter is a peer support community with educational resources and habit coaching for people who use or are considering GLP-1 medications.

Cozy Butter is not a healthcare provider. We do not practice medicine, nursing, dietetics, psychology, or any other licensed profession. We do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and we do not prescribe, dispense, recommend, adjust, or supply any medication. Nothing on the Service is medical, nutritional, psychological, or legal advice, and nothing on the Service is a substitute for care from your own licensed practitioner.

Guest professionals and directory listings. We sometimes host licensed professionals, such as registered dietitians or therapists, as guest speakers, and we may list professionals in our resource directory. A guest's session is general education for the group, not care for you individually, and attending one does not make you their patient or client. If you choose to work with a professional you found through Cozy Butter, including one-on-one care with someone listed in our directory, that relationship is between you and them on their own terms. We are not a party to it, we do not supervise it, and we are not responsible for it.

No professional relationship is created. Using the Service, reading our guides, posting a question, attending a session, or receiving an answer from a coach or a moderator does not create a clinician-patient relationship, a therapist-client relationship, or any other professional relationship between you and Cozy Butter or any person acting for us.

Coaching has a boundary. Health coaching on the Service covers general wellness habits such as everyday nutrition, hydration, movement, sleep, and routine. Our coaches work only within the scope of their certifications and only in the general, non-clinical sense permitted by the law where you live. If a question calls for clinical judgment, the answer will be to ask your own practitioner.

Emergencies. If you think you may be having a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number and contact your practitioner. Do not post about it and wait for a reply. The Service is not monitored around the clock and is not a crisis service. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 in the United States to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

Results are not promised. Individual experiences with GLP-1 medications, nutrition, and exercise vary widely. Anything you read on the Service about another person's results, including anything posted by a member, a guest, a coach, or a founder, is that person's experience and is not a prediction of yours.

3. Agreeing to these Terms

These Terms are a binding contract between you and Cozy Butter LLC. You accept them when you check the box or click the button presented to you at sign-up, and also by using the Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms include, and incorporate by reference, our Community Guidelines, our Privacy Policy, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, and our AI Policy. Where the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy addresses consumer health data, that policy controls.

Some parts of the Service may have their own additional terms, which will be shown to you before you use that part. Where additional terms conflict with these Terms, the additional terms control for that part of the Service only.

4. Who may use the Service

5. Your account

Give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it current. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think someone else has your credentials. You are responsible for what happens under your account, except to the extent it results from our own failure.

The member name and profile you choose are visible to other members, and when you post in an open space, your member name and your post are visible to anyone on the internet, not only to members. Please choose a member name you are comfortable seeing in public, and share only what you are comfortable sharing publicly.

6. Community rules

The community works because members treat each other well. Our full Community Guidelines are part of these Terms. In summary, and without limiting them:

7. Medication safety rules

These rules exist because the community is about prescription medication, and breaking them can put another member in real danger. They apply everywhere on the Service, including private messages between members.

We remove this content when we find it, and we may end a membership over it without warning. If you see it, use the report feature or email [email protected]. We may report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities.

8. Live events, classes, video, and recordings

Physical activity, and your assumption of risk. Group fitness classes, movement sessions, and any other physical activity offered through the Service are voluntary and are performed at your own risk. Exercise carries risk of injury, including serious injury. Talk with your practitioner before you start a new exercise program, particularly if you are losing weight quickly, are new to exercise, are pregnant, or have a heart, joint, or metabolic condition. Instructors cannot see you, cannot assess your form, and are not responsible for supervising you. Modify or stop any activity that does not feel right for your body.

Release. To the fullest extent the law allows, you knowingly and voluntarily assume all risk of participating in physical activity through the Service, and you release Cozy Butter LLC, its owners, officers, employees, contractors, instructors, coaches, and guests from claims for injury, illness, or loss arising out of your participation, other than claims arising from gross negligence or willful misconduct. This release does not waive any right that cannot be waived under the law where you live.

Instructors and guests. Some classes, sessions, and conversations are led by independent instructors, coaches, or guests who are not our employees. Their statements are their own and are not endorsed by us.

Cameras, microphones, and recording. Your camera and microphone are off unless you turn them on. Your chosen member name is visible to other participants if you post in the chat. Some sessions are recorded and replayed inside the community. Sessions that are being recorded are announced at the start and are labeled in the event description.

Your consent to be recorded. By joining a session that is announced as recorded, and by turning on your camera or microphone or posting in its chat, you consent to being recorded and to that recording being stored and replayed inside the community, and you release any claim to compensation for it. Several states require the consent of every participant before a conversation may be recorded, and this paragraph is that consent. If you do not want to be recorded, keep your camera and microphone off and do not post in the chat, or leave the session.

What we do not do. We do not use facial recognition, face geometry, voiceprints, or any other biometric identifier in our events or recordings, and we do not collect or store biometric identifiers or biometric information about you.

Recording by members is prohibited. You may not record, screen-capture, stream, or transcribe any live session or any part of the community, and you may not distribute a recording made by us.

9. Content, licenses, and intellectual property

Your content. You keep ownership of what you post. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt for formatting, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating, securing, and improving the Service. This license lasts as long as your content is on the Service and, for content other members have replied to or saved, for a reasonable period afterward for backups and archives.

We do not use your posts in marketing without asking. We will not quote, screenshot, or feature your content, your member name, or your likeness in advertising or on public pages without your separate written permission. Aggregated and de-identified analysis is handled separately and is described in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

Deleting your content. You can delete your content, and it will be removed from member view. Copies may remain in backups for a limited period, and content another member has quoted or replied to may persist in that context.

Feedback. If you send us a suggestion, we may use it without obligation to you.

Our content. The Service, including our guides, tools, graphics, brand, and the Cozy Butter name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial use inside the community. You may not copy, republish, sell, scrape, mine, or use it to train a machine-learning model, and you may not use our name or logo without our written permission.

Tools from GLP-1 Coach. The calculators, guides, and tools supplied by GLP-1 Coach are owned by GLP-1 Studio LLC and made available to us, not owned by Cozy Butter. The restrictions in this section apply to them as well.

Trademarks of others. Ozempic and Wegovy are trademarks of Novo Nordisk A/S. Mounjaro and Zepbound are trademarks of Eli Lilly and Company. Circle, Stripe, Cloudflare, Google, and other product names are the trademarks of their owners. We use these names only to identify the products we are talking about. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these companies.

10. Copyright and DMCA

We respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice with the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) to our designated agent:

Amanda Bonello, Copyright Agent, Cozy Butter LLC, 3800 Business Highway 151, #113, Marion, IA 52302. Email: [email protected] with "DMCA" in the subject line. Telephone: +1 802-432-8513.

Your notice must include your signature, identification of the work, identification of the material and where it is, your contact details, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act. We will remove or disable material as required, notify the member, and accept counter-notices. We end the accounts of repeat infringers. Knowingly false notices carry liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

11. Third-party platforms and links

The Service runs on platforms we do not control, including Circle, which hosts the community, Cloudflare, which hosts this website, Stripe, which processes payments, and Google Workspace and Resend, which deliver email. Your use of those platforms is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and their practices, including the cookies they set, are theirs rather than ours. We are not responsible for third-party sites we link to.

Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe, and we do not see or store your full card number. The seller and the price for any Cozy Butter offering are shown up front at checkout.

App stores. If you use the Circle mobile app, Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms, they have no obligation to support the Service, and they are third-party beneficiaries entitled to enforce the sections of these Terms that apply to your use of the app.

Resources from other GLP-1 sites. Some of what you will find in Cozy Butter comes from separate products that Cozy Butter does not own: the calculators and guides come from GLP-1 Coach, the daily news posts come from GLP-1 Nation, and the legislation and FDA tracking comes from GLP-1 Laws. Those products are operated by GLP-1 Studio LLC, a company owned by co-founder Amanda Bonello. They are offered here as a resource for members, they are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and Cozy Butter is not responsible for their content or for the accuracy of what they publish.

Those calculators, guides, and tools, including the ones published at glp1coach.app, were created by and are owned by GLP-1 Studio LLC, which retains all rights in them. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of them to Cozy Butter or to you, and reaching them through Cozy Butter does not give you permission to copy, republish, or rebuild them.

12. Paid options, renewals, and refunds

Joining Cozy Butter is free today, and some programs and features may have paid options. Where a paid option exists:

13. Sponsorship, affiliate links, and testimonials

Some content may be sponsored, and some links may be affiliate links that pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Sponsorship and affiliate relationships are disclosed clearly and close to the content they apply to, as the Federal Trade Commission's guides require.

A sponsor does not control our editorial content, does not review posts before they are published, and does not get access to member data. We do not accept sponsorship that promotes an unapproved use of a prescription medication, and we do not accept sponsorship from grey-market sellers or from any source of GLP-1 medication that operates without valid prescriptions and licensed pharmacies.

Where we publish a member's story or testimonial, we publish it with that member's written permission, we do not pay for it unless we say so, we do not edit it in a way that changes its meaning, and we say plainly that one person's result is not typical. We do not write or commission fake reviews, and we do not suppress honest negative feedback.

14. Changes to the Service, and additional services

We may add, change, or retire features, spaces, programs, and offerings over time, and we may set limits on use of the Service.

We may also offer additional products and services in the future, including ones provided by an affiliated company or by an independent third party. Any such service will be described to you before you use it, will be optional, and will be governed by its own terms and its own privacy notice. Nothing in these Terms commits us to offering any additional service, and information you have given us for the community is not automatically carried into one.

15. Privacy

How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, and our AI Policy. Please read them. Cozy Butter is not a HIPAA covered entity, and what you post in the community is not protected health information under HIPAA.

16. Suspension and ending your membership

You can leave at any time by cancelling in the community or emailing [email protected]. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend an account, or end a membership if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms or the Community Guidelines, if it is necessary to protect another member or the Service, or if the law requires it. Where it is practical and lawful, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

Sections that by their nature should survive do survive the end of your membership, including Sections 9, 10, and 17 through 22.

17. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and any warranty arising from a course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, timely, or error-free, that information on it is accurate, complete, or current, or that any result will be achieved. Educational content is general in nature and can become out of date, particularly as prescribing information changes.

Content posted by members, guests, instructors, and sponsors is theirs. We do not adopt, endorse, or verify it, and we are not responsible for it. We are not responsible for the conduct of any member, whether on the Service or off it, and we do not screen or background-check members.

Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

18. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither Cozy Butter LLC nor its owners, officers, employees, contractors, coaches, instructors, or guests will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Service, whether the claim is based in contract, tort, statute, or any other theory, and even if we have been advised that such damages are possible.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of one hundred United States dollars or the total amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These limits are a fundamental part of the agreement between us and apply even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some states do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, for gross negligence, for willful misconduct, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

19. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cozy Butter LLC and the people listed in Section 18 from any claim, liability, damage, loss, and expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your content, your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms or the Community Guidelines, your violation of any law, or your violation of another person's rights. We may take over the defense of any matter subject to this section at our own expense, and you agree to cooperate.

20. Disputes, arbitration, and class waiver

20.1 Talk to us first. If you have a problem, email [email protected] with a description of it and the relief you want. We will try to resolve it informally. Neither of us may start arbitration until 60 days after that notice, and the limitations period is paused while we talk.

20.2 Agreement to arbitrate. If we cannot resolve it, you and Cozy Butter LLC agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules, or by another administrator we both agree to, under the Federal Arbitration Act. The arbitrator decides all issues except the enforceability of Section 20.4, which a court decides. Arbitration is less formal than court, uses a neutral arbitrator instead of a judge or jury, and is subject to limited review.

20.3 What is not covered. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court, may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property, and may report a matter to a government agency.

20.4 No class or representative actions. You and Cozy Butter LLC agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding, and the arbitrator may not preside over one. If this paragraph is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim, and only that claim, proceeds in court.

20.5 Coordinated filings. If 25 or more similar claims are brought against us by or with the help of the same counsel, the claims will be filed in batches of no more than 50, each batch heard by one arbitrator, with the remaining claims held until each batch resolves. This is meant to keep costs reasonable for both sides.

20.6 Where and how. Arbitration will be conducted in the county where you live, by telephone or video, or on documents alone, at your choice for claims under ten thousand dollars. We will pay the filing fee for claims under ten thousand dollars unless the arbitrator finds the claim frivolous.

20.7 Opting out. You may opt out of Section 20 within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out," or by mailing the same to Cozy Butter LLC, Attention: Arbitration Opt-Out, 3800 Business Highway 151, #113, Marion, IA 52302. Include your full legal name and the email address on your account. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms and will not be held against you.

20.8 Jury waiver. If Section 20.2 does not apply to a dispute, you and Cozy Butter LLC each waive any right to a jury trial for that dispute, to the fullest extent the law allows.

20.9 Time limit. Any claim relating to the Service must be brought within one year after it arises, or it is permanently barred, unless the law where you live does not allow a shortened period.

20.10 Changes. If we materially change Section 20, you may reject the change by writing to us within 30 days, and the version in place before the change will continue to apply to you.

21. Governing law and venue

These Terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa and the Federal Arbitration Act, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. For any matter not subject to arbitration, you and Cozy Butter LLC consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Linn County, Iowa. Nothing here deprives you of the protection of a mandatory consumer law of the state where you live.

22. Disputes between members

If you have a dispute with another member, you resolve it between yourselves, and you release Cozy Butter LLC from claims arising out of it. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code section 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."

23. General

24. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we make a material change, we will post the updated Terms here with a new version number and date, and we will give notice inside the community or by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect, unless a change has to happen sooner for legal or security reasons. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, please close your account before that date. Changes are not retroactive.

Amendments

Changes made after a version takes effect are listed here, newest first.

October 13, 2026 (announced September 29, 2026). Polls, surveys and insights. You agree that we may create aggregated, de-identified information from your use of the Service, including poll and survey results, and use, publish, share or sell it. Reports and insights contain only totals and percentages. They do not include your name, email address, username, photo, the words you wrote, or anything else that identifies you, and no figure comes from fewer than eleven people. You are counted, not named. If you do not want your answer used this way, do not take part. This adds to the license in Section 9. See our Privacy Policy.

September 29, 2026. Research studies and opportunities. Taking part in a study, research project, product test or other opportunity is your choice. Before you take part in one, or give any information for it, we explain it and ask you to agree to it separately. We tell you what it asks for, who is running it or, if that company asked to keep its name private, what kind of company it is, what information that company receives, how it will be used, and how to withdraw. If you agree, we share only what that opportunity needs with the company running it. This is an exception to the statements that we share information only with our service providers and that we do not share it with advertisers. A company kept private receives only results that do not identify you, unless you give your information to it directly, for example by filling in its screener. Nothing in this note applies to you unless you agree for that opportunity. You can ask us for a list of the companies that received your information.

September 29, 2026. Wording. We changed the word “never” to “do not” in a few sentences. What we do has not changed.

25. Contact
