Community Guidelines
Version 1.2. Effective August 25, 2026.
These Guidelines are part of our Terms of Service and apply everywhere on Cozy Butter, including spaces, comments, live session chat, event pages, and private messages between members. They exist so that this stays a place where people can talk honestly about weight, medication, and health. The community is public: open spaces can be read by anyone on the internet, and these rules bind every member everywhere on the Service all the same.
1. Be kind
- No harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, or pile-ons.
- No hateful conduct based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or medical condition.
- No shaming anyone for their body, their weight, their food, or their decision to use or not use medication.
- No unsolicited comments on another member's appearance or weight, including compliments about weight loss when the person has not invited them.
- Disagree with the idea rather than the person.
2. What is shared here stays here
- Do not screenshot, copy, quote, record, transcribe, or repost another member's content anywhere outside the community, including on social media, in group chats, in the press, or in another community.
- Do not share another member's name, photograph, employer, location, or health details, including which medication they use.
- Do not contact a member off the platform about something they posted here unless they have invited you to.
- Do not use anything you find here to build a list, a dataset, a story, or a product. This includes automated collection of any kind.
Breaking this rule is the fastest way to lose your membership, and we treat it as a serious matter.
3. No medical advice
Share your own experience freely. What you may not do is act as a clinician for someone else.
- Do not tell another member what medication to take, what dose to use, how to change a dose, or when to start or stop.
- Do not tell another member what their symptom means, or that a symptom is or is not serious.
- Do not tell another member to ignore, delay, or override their practitioner.
- Saying "here is what happened to me, and here is what my prescriber said" is welcome. Saying "you should take" is not.
If you are a licensed clinician, you are welcome here as a member, and the same rule applies. Nothing said in the community is clinical care, and no clinician-patient relationship is created by it.
4. Medication safety
These rules protect members from real harm, and we enforce them without warning.
- Do not offer, request, arrange, advertise, sell, buy, gift, trade, or ship prescription medication, needles, or any other prescription item, and do not connect members with each other for that purpose.
- Do not promote or link to "research chemical" or grey-market peptide sellers, personal importation schemes, or any other source of GLP-1 medication that operates without a valid prescription filled by a licensed pharmacy. Licensed telehealth providers and state-licensed compounding pharmacies working from valid prescriptions are welcome topics.
- Do not post instructions for splitting, stretching, reconstituting, or re-dosing a supply.
- Do not post a prescription, a prescription label, or a pharmacy order with identifying details visible, whether it is yours or somebody else's.
5. No selling, recruiting, or promotion
- No advertising, spam, or affiliate links.
- No multi-level marketing, supplement sales, or program pitches, including in private messages.
- No recruiting members for another community, a study, a survey, a podcast, or a press story without our written permission.
- Coaches and businesses may not use the community to find clients.
6. Content that is never allowed
- Sexual content, and any content that sexualizes a minor. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as federal law requires.
- Content encouraging disordered eating, including goal weights framed as targets for others, calorie counts presented as instructions, purging, extreme restriction, and "thinspiration" of any kind.
- Content encouraging self-harm or suicide. If you are struggling, please call or text 988 in the United States, and tell a moderator so we can point you to help.
- Content promoting violence or illegal activity.
- Impersonating another person, a clinician, a brand, or a member of our team.
- Content you do not have the right to post, including copyrighted material and another person's photographs.
- Malware, phishing, or attempts to break, probe, or overload the platform.
7. Live sessions
- Your camera and microphone stay off unless you turn them on.
- Sessions that are recorded are announced at the start and labeled in the event description. If you do not want to be recorded, keep your camera and microphone off and do not post in the chat.
- You may not record, screen-capture, stream, or transcribe a session.
- Fitness classes are voluntary and at your own risk. Modify anything, rest when you need to, and check with your practitioner before starting a new program.
8. How we enforce this
Most problems are handled with a quiet word. Depending on what happened and whether it has happened before, we may remove content, edit a post to remove identifying details, mute or restrict an account, suspend it, or end a membership. We remove content and end memberships without warning for the medication safety rules, for sharing another member's information outside the community, and for anything in Section 6.
We are a small team and we do not review everything before it is posted. We are not obligated to remove any particular piece of content, and choosing to moderate some content does not make us responsible for the rest.
9. Reporting, and appealing a decision
Use the report feature on a post, or email [email protected]. Tell us what you saw and where. We will look at it, and we will not tell the other member who reported them.
If we removed your content or restricted your account and you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice we sent you or email [email protected] within 30 days. A founder will review it and answer you.
10. Changes
We may update these Guidelines, and we will post the new version here with a new date. Material changes are announced inside the community.
